It’s no surprise that the Psalms address peace a lot. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. If His face was toward them, their lives would be marked by success and tranquility, but if they caused Him to turn His face away, the result would be catastrophic. The Bible frequently associates God’s posture toward His people with their immediate experience. This passage from Numbers is often used as a benediction. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) GOD’S SOLUTION Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” (Proverbs 14:12) Regardless of which path we may choose to try and reach God, the fact is, there is only one way to find Him. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” People have tried many ways to restore this lost relationship with God, but no amount of effort or good deeds on our part can ever pay for our sin. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” OUR ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM “But your iniquities have separated you from your God your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” Here’s what the Bible says in Isaiah 59:2 That “missing peace” inside every man, woman and child is caused by our separation from God which is a direct result of our sin. God created us to have a relationship with Him and to experience true, lasting peace in this life. ![]()
